Join us for a convesation with Will and Lisa Samson, authors of Justice in the Burbs: Being the Hands of Jesus Wherever You Are.

Saturday, October 6, 7:00 PM

Pick up a cup of good, fair-trade coffee (or tea) and enter into conversation about how our churches can be catalysts of justice in our neighborhoods...wherever those neighborhoods happen to be... and to discuss how you can make a difference for justice wherever you happen to live.

If you haven't yet read the book, I highly encourage you to pick up a copy and read it beforehand. Read it even if you don't plan to be there. Read it, then pass it on to everyone you know. It's just that good.

We'll be showing the movie Black Gold, which documents the struggle of Ethiopian coffee farmers to create and sustain a global fair trade economy.

Monday - Friday: 7 am to 12 noon; 5 pm to 11 pm
Saturday: 8 am to 2 PM, 5 pm to 11 pm
Sunday: 9 am to 1 pm

During VisualFringe and FringeFilm (through Sept. 2), Earth House will be open the following hours:

Fridays, 2:30 PM-11 PM

Saturdays, 2:30 PM-11 PM

Sundays, 2:30 PM-9 PM

On Sundays, we'll also be open one-half hour before the LCUMC 10:30 AM service. Yes, you can get coffee and not stay for the churchy part. Earth House is a lovely place to grab a cup of coffee and read the Sunday paper.

Coming in September, look for our grand opening with extended hours.

You must purchase a $3 Fringe Festival Badge (available at the door) to enter Fringe Film Shows. This badge is necessary to enter any and all Fringe Festival Events.
All shows are $10 (standard Fringe price), or $7 for students / seniors (over 60). There are no advanced purchases. All tickets must be purchased at the door. While traditional Fringe Festival Live Shows are cash only, Fringe Film shows can accept VISA or MasterCard for admission.

Earth House Coffee and Books is located in Lockerbie Central United Methodist Church, at the corner of New York & East streets. Look for the steeple - you can see it from almost anywhere downtown.

Earth House serves a full coffee menu featuring delicious, fair-trade and organic coffees, teas, and smoothies, as well as light snacks. Sit back in the comfortable, urban loft-like living room and enjoy time with friends old and new.

Earth House Books specializes in books about sustainability, eco-justice, economic transformation, world peace, and radical living.
